We started off the new year with community, offering free, in-person injury consultations at Fleet Feet Long Beach, where Run562 led a run throughout the neighborhood.

With so much (mis)information out in the world, it can be difficult to sort through it and decide what's right for you. To curb this, EMC joins local partners to offer free, 15 min in-person consultations at community events, creating a low barrier opportunity to ask questions about sport-specific injuries, strength training, and receive guidance on next steps.
After many discussions throughout the evening, we start to see some patterns!
For runners, some of the most common injuries I see are:
IT Band Syndrome (Pain Outside of the Knee)
Runner’s Knee (Patellofemoral Pain)
Shin Splints (Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome)
Morton’s Neuroma
Plantar Fasciitis (Plantar Heel Pain)
Check Out "Running Injuries: Why They Happen, and Ways To Fix Them" for more!
The most important part of this?
Making sure that people leave with a new insight on how to keep running despite an injury or what runners can do to mitigate potential injury.
(During our consultations, you'll see us performing some orthopedic tests and showing some exercises to address weaknesses)

Common Mistakes Runners Make with Rehab and Injury Mitigation:
Not incorporating strength training to prepare their tissues for the load and impact of running.
Using warm ups as their only injury-mitigation practice.
Misunderstanding progressive overload in rehab protocols.
Not sticking with a rehab plan.

If you're a runner struggling to overcome your injury, Elite Motion Chiro makes one-of-a-kind treatment programs so that you can reach your movement and running goals. We do this by:
